Expansion of the SES Group

Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) announces the March 31, 2012 acquisition of Aerostar Environmental Services, Inc. (AES), a Jacksonville, Florida-based environmental and engineering services firm.  The company has been re-named Aerostar SES LLC and will become part of the BBNC-owned SES Group headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, under the management of President/CEO Basil Skelton.  The SES Group also includes SpecPro Environmental Services LLC (SES) and SES Construction and Fuel Services LLC (SCF).  The SES Group had 2011 revenues exceeding $100M and provides construction, engineering, and environmental services to a wide range of government and private sector clients. Under the overall management of General Manager Roy Hoekstra, Aerostar SES will be headquartered in Jacksonville where it will continue to service its government, commercial, and industrial client base under the leadership of AES founder and President, Dawn Blackledge.  In addition to Ms. Blackledge, the entire leadership team and technical staff of AES will remain with the new company. 

Mr. Skelton stated, “This acquisition expands the range of services offered by the SES Group of companies and strengthens our presence in the Florida and Gulf coast market.  Aerostar has an outstanding track record of success with both government and private sector clients and is intended to be a key component of our future strategy.”

SES Implements Water Control Structure Upgrades at Savannah National Wildlife Refuge

SES has rehabilitated the existing freshwater control system in the SNWR by replacing or restoring water control gates, pipes and structures, We have also completed dike repair and road construction as part of a $12.5 million USACE project. The 17 custom-built structures ensure that fresh water enters the refuge from the Savannah River with greater ease of operation and maintenance than the previous design.


SES Named JSC 2011 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year

In recognition of SES's support of JSC's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) fast-track project to design and build a replacement hangar at Ellington Field and to repair a barge dock, SES was awarded the JSC 2011 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award in a ceremony held in Houston on April 7th.

Both facilities were destroyed during Hurricane Ike in 2008. The new hangar, designed to withstand 140 mph winds, services the NASA Super Guppy, WB-57 and T-38 aircraft and functions primarily as a wash facility.  At the JSC barge dock, clean-up of debris and repair, replacement and restoration activities were completed one month ahead of schedule and this project was applauded for timeliness in addition to quality and price.

SES awarded USACE Contract at Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, Georgia

SpecPro Environmental Services LLC, Oak Ridge, Tenn., was awarded on Dec. 10 a $12,455,141 firm-fixed-price contract. This award will provide for the rehabilitation of the Fresh Water Control System (FWCS) of the Savannah Fish and Wildlife area. The work involves the replacement and restoration of the water control gates, pipes, structures and the improvements of the canal. The new structures must smoothly and uniformly tie into the existing and adjacent portions of the control works of the FWCS. Work is to be performed in Hardeeville, S.C., with an estimated completion date of May 31, 2014. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, Savannah, Ga., is the contracting activity (W912HN-10-D-0001).

Basil Skelton named President and CEO of SpecPro Environmental Services LLC

The Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) Board of Directors has named Basil Skelton to be President and Chief Executive Officer of wholly owned subsidiary, SpecPro Environmental Services LLC (SES). The company is headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and has six other offices in Florida, Georgia, Texas and Virginia. SES provides construction and environmental remediation services to a range of clients including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the U.S. Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE), the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In 2006, SES acquired Oak Ridge-based STEP Inc. from owners Basil Skelton, Ken Shepard, and Jeff Wood. Mr. Skelton remained with the company as Chief Operating Officer and since that time has overseen an approximate five-fold growth of the company to over $70M in annual revenue. As SES’s President, Mr. Skelton also has responsibility for the entire SES Group of companies which includes SES, SES Construction and Fuel Services LLC (SCF), and SpecPro Construction and Remediation LLC (SCR).



SpecPro Environmental Services LLC acquires Solutions to Environmental Problems, Inc.
Combination Will Create New Opportunities for Growth

OAK RIDGE, TN, October 26, 2006

SpecPro Environmental Services LLC, (SES) a Huntsville Alabama firm, announced today that it has agreed to acquire Solutions to Environmental Problems, Inc. (STEP), an environmental services and construction firm headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Following the acquisition, STEP will be merged into SES, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC). BBNC is an Alaskan Native Corporation owned by over 7,300 shareholders who are Eskimo, Aleut and Indian.

STEP has been one the region’s most successful small business government contractors and holds multiple contracts with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Air Force Center of Environmental Excellence, the US Navy Facilities Engineering Command, and the National Nuclear Security Administration. The merger with SES will allow STEP to continue to support its traditional clients while expanding into new business areas. “STEP has an outstanding track record of performance, due mainly to the quality of the management team and technical staff.
