Building & Facilities Construction

SES has extensive government and commercial facility construction experience throughout the United States.

Government construction work not only incorporates stringent site security but also tight working conditions as old buildings are revamped to accommodate new missions with additional needs and increased electrical loads. SES is adept at working within these confines.

We will self-perform demolition, site preparation, utility construction, carpentry, drywall installation, doors and windows, interior finishing and specialty items. SES can also provide electrical and mechanical design and we use our network of highly qualified, reputable subcontractors to complete the electrical work and HVAC system installations.

Over the years we have taken on some highly varied construction projects: a hangar and wash facility for the Super Guppy; an obstacle course for military training; a U.S. Coast Guard navigation tower; and a large ice-sports complex as well as more typical facility construction – office buildings, classrooms and storage facilities.

We believe that this diversity of experience enables us to approach each project with fresh ideas and 'on the job' experience.

Featured Projects

CLASSROOM RENOVATION - Columbus AFB, Mississippi
Provided construction management on a two-phase, design-build project to renovate over 17,000 sq. ft. of classroom space into a pilot training center.

A fast-track design-build project to replace a hangar used to service some of NASA's largest and most exciting aircraft - this open-sided facility was designed to withstand 140mph winds, incorporating twelve 5ft. diameter by 60ft. deep support piers. The $3.4 million hangar provides clearance to use a man-lift to wash the entire fuelage of the Super Guppy.  SES was awarded the JSC 2011 Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award for this and other restoration/repair work at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Constructed a $3 million clear span training facility for security personnel that was the largest indoor firing range within the Department of Energy. This 18,560 sq. ft. range incorporates controls that allow for programming of light levels, target locations and "running man" scenarios. Also demolished an existing building, installed restroom facilities, an HVAC system, and firing range equipment.

ICEARIUM CONSTRUCTION - Knoxville, Tennessee
SES designed and built the largest ice sports facility in East Tennessee - a 47,000 sq. ft. complex that houses an NHL-sized ice sheet. The $5.6 million facility was constructed in 8 months and at 4% below budget.
